Featured · CNC Milling

Horizontal and vertical milling, built for volume

Milling is a cornerstone of our shop. Four Makino A51 horizontal machining centers with automated pallet changers keep spindles cutting around the clock, while two Haas VF-2SS Super-Speed vertical machining centers handle fast-turn prismatic work.

  • (4) Makino A51 HMCs — twin 400 mm pallets, 14,000 RPM spindles, 138/60 tool capacity, laser tool measurement, full 4th axis
  • (3) KME 4.5-axis tombstones — dense workholding for long unattended runs
  • (2) Haas VF-2SS Super-Speed VMCs — 40-taper, 12,000 RPM, 30+1 side-mount tool changer, made in the USA

Swiss-Type Turning

Complex small parts, done in one

Eight Star and Tsugami sliding-headstock lathes — with live tooling, sub-spindles, and automatic bar feeders — turn, mill, drill, and tap tight-tolerance parts complete in a single operation.

  • Bar capacity from 3/8″ up to 1-1/4″, spindle speeds to 15,000 RPM
  • Up to 14 live tools per machine with full C-axis and synchronous tapping
  • IEMCA and LNS auto-load bar feeders for lights-out production

Mill-Turn Centers

Turn it, mill it, finish it — one setup

Nine turning and mill-turn centers from Doosan, Mazak, and Nakamura-Tome — including twin-spindle, twin-turret machines with Y-axis and high-pressure coolant — take complete parts off the machine with fewer handlings and tighter stack-ups.

  • (3) Doosan Puma TT1800SY 7-axis twin-spindle, twin-turret centers — newest added 2022
  • Chuck capacity to 10″, live tooling, full C-axis and Y-axis travel
  • 1,000 PSI high-pressure coolant for deep-hole and exotic-alloy work

How a precision dental drill gets made

MTI Dental's segment on "Machines: How They Work" — and the machines doing the work are ours.

Television's Machines: How They Work went inside MTI Dental to show how a precision dental handpiece — the drill — gets made. MTI Dental joined the CNC Manufacturing family in 2015, and the machining in the segment happens on our Coatesville floor: the same machines, people, and quality discipline behind every capability on this page. About five minutes, and worth every one.
